Through our "Tackle Hunger" program, the JOY Foundation feeds over 450 families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday. In 2007, our "Shop With A Hero" program provided Christmas JOY to over 1200 children of need. This year that number will most certainly increase.
Why do we do it?
Neil Postman said that "our children are the messages we send out to a time that we will never see." What kind of messages are we sending? Are they messages of love, hope and joy? The JOY Foundation of Georgia exists to help children of need in our communities. By ministering to their physical needs we may be able to minister to their spiritual needs as well.
One hundred years from now it will not matter what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had, nor what my clothes were like. But the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child.
